    I want to be a successful rap/hip hop artist but I’m new to the music industry and I don’t know what steps I need to take in order to get signed and become successful besides just buying rap beats and creating tracks. Any help would be great.

    Hey man I was in your position about a month ago and I didn’t know what to do. I had a few tracks but I was kind of stuck. Then I found this website one day when I was searching for cheap beats. This guy has this website called DurkMusicBeats that helps up-and-coming artists that are stuck like I was! He has really cheap rap beats/instrumentals on there. He also has some expensive beats that are really hot but the main point of his site is helping artists like me and you for free! The reason I am telling you about the site is because there is so much helpful information there that I couldn’t possible right out here.

    I just dont get it. Ur not going to be an overnight celebrity if u get signed by a label unless its like Cash money or something along the lines of that.

    I agree. I’m signed and i garentee not a single one of yall has heard of me. Unless you stay round st. louis. Artist get signed everyday and its definately not like WHAM!!BAM!! now lets snort coke off these slutz g-strings woohoo yeah.

    Its more like DANG muthaufcka’s better look my isht up so i don’t have to pay this advancement back.

    i see all these people with no talent get signed to a record company , Sean Kingston, Akon, T-pain, Pretty Ricky, ect.. a bunch of cheesy water down stars… that get signed!! who signs these people.. cause if they can get signed i know i can for sure get signed,,.. is there anything that is done for this to happen?…lol… which record label are most likely to sign someone?… does anyone know the right ways to get to a signing desk? can someone help me please!!!… thanks

    reggaeton is wack. its the same drum over and over and over every song. the easiest record label to get signed to any, if you willing to do some gay shit.

    but all the shit you said is true, all them dudes you said all are horrible, but they ain’t hip-hop, even though everybody seems to mistake r&b with hip-hop. that’s why hip-hop is so horrible right now is cuz for the past 6 or 7 years, people think these r&b dudes are hip-hop. the radio has been doing it for years, making stations Hip-Hop AND R&B because their both “black music” and it’s pure racist. But nobody realizes that…

    Ok, my friends have a rock band. They just got signed by Warner 4 days ago, and know they are in the process of making arrangements for promoting, and stuff. They are getting all this free stuff too lol…
    Here’s the thing: they are a rock band, and I am a rapper. So my question is this:

    Does them getting signed, in any way, help me with MY quest to become a rapper? Like, I went up to them and congratulated them, and one of my friends said “I promise man, once we get big, I’m going to make you famous too.” So my question is:

    If I make a demo, will he be able to give it to his record label (warner signs rappers as well) and say “check this rapper out”, or will I have to follow the steps like everyone else and send a press kit, wait,etc.? (Or will my friend who got signed be allow to just give it to Warner with his own hands?)

    If your lucky it will all be easy for you just work hard and try your best in everything and when it comes to your demo make sure it sounds good but you can’t rely on your friends to get you big. Try giving the demo and also talk to your friends about if they were actually serious and if that doesn’t work out have a backup plan ready.
